Qibli Window
This charity art piece is a meticulously handmade replica inspired by the historic stained-glass windows of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, an integral part of its sacred architecture.
The original 56 decorated windows in the Qibli Mosque section date back to the Fatimid and Abbasid eras, designed to filter sunlight and bathe the interior in vibrant color—a testament to centuries of artistry. My piece captures this legacy, featuring the traditional floral motifs, intricate geometric patterns, and elegant Quranic calligraphy found in the originals.
However, the beauty of these ancient windows also tells a story of resilience. Many have undergone necessary restoration after damage inflicted by Israeli forces, allegedly broken to allow snipers to have a view into the mosque. . By acquiring this replica, you are holding a piece of history and supporting a vision for the future.
The full sale price of three of these windows, (total $4500) will be donated to the Gaza Pediatric Mental Health Initiative, organised by the Palestine Childrens Relief fund (linked below). A copy of the reciept will be forwarded to the buyers.
